TRAP New Year Update 2025

With the new year beginning, we - the TRAP organizing team - would like to give a few updates and insights on the first full year of TRAP in the new hall.

First of all thanks to all of you for coming, for training, for hosting workshops, for filling the pink floor with life! 2024 was a big year, with the new flooring being done and the last of the bigger constructions works being finished. We are aware that there is still quite some room for improvement and are looking forward to getting things done in 2025!

New prices & new discounts

We used the holiday to take a closer look at our current prices. We do not want to change much, but found some of the prices a little bit inconsistent, that is why we made some minor adjustments. The changes:

Exclusive bookings:

  • Hourly rate for half the hall on weekdays went down from 35€ to 30€
  • Hourly rate for the whole hall on weekdays went down from 70€ to 60€
  • Hourly rate for the gallery on weekends went down from 35€ to 30€
  • Hourly rate for the studios on weekdays went up from 20€ to 25€ while the weekend rate went down from 40€ to 35€
  • Additionally booking extra hours is now consistently cheaper than the first hour!
  • AND: All holders of yearly and monthly training passes get a 10% discount on all exclusive bookings! Just use "MEMBER" as a promocode at payment

Open Training Passes:

  • The weekly pass goes down from 30€ to 22€
  • The yearly pass goes down from 400€ to 365€
  • AND: Until January 31st there is a special offer for 300€ for the yearly pass!

If you have feedback on our prices and suggestions to make the hall more viable for you to use, please let us know at contact@circus-trap.org

Finances

We would like to provide a little transparency on the finance situation. As you may know, all the money that is coming in is just to cover the construction cost and the day to day expenses. Any private profits or financial gains of individuals are strictly prohibited. In 2024 we could significantly get closer to actually covering our cost. Those costs are:

  • 4051,00 € for the monthly fee to repay the construction costs
  • 569,00€ for energy and utility
  • 300,00€ for cleaning and office

Right now we are at around 75%. Which unfortunately still means that SchloR needs to cover the rest, but we are coming closer and closer. To actually go there we like to encourage also you to get the word out and invite friends and colleagues to come use the space and become a part of TRAP!

Heating Troubles

As many of you know the heating system in the hall is still far from optimal. We would like to say sorry for that, we have been working hard for the past couple of months to get it finally working as intended, but the companies we are working with turn out to be very unreliable, slow and unresponsible. We really push hard and hope it is going to be finally resolved soon!

Aerials & Riggin' Points

After a recent incident with the ladder for getting up to the rigging points we would like to get the word out again, that the rigging points and the ladder must only be used with proper introduction. Please do not hesitate to ask other users in the hall if you are unsure. We will provide regular introductions for the technical equipment in the future, but you will need to get a proper training before using the aerial rigging points at TRAP. If you see other users that are using equipment in the wrong way, please do not hesitate to offer help and tell them to sign up for an introduction at contact@circus-trap.org.

Support SchloR

SchloR - which TRAP is a part of - is a crowd investing project that is currently looking for new loans. If you have a couple of € to spare for either long or short term, you should park it at SchloR. Check out the SchloR website for more infos!

We are a team of volunteers, so please be patient, but we will try to make it happen: contact@circus-trap.org.
